A Conversation with Andrew Harvey

What breaks your heart? According to Andrew Harvey, this question can help you discover your purpose and your part to play in the healing of the planet. In this program, we welcomed Andrew for a discussion on his concept of Sacred Activism and why it is so needed right now.

In Andrew’s book, The Hope, he describes seven laws of Sacred Activism that have the potential to transform our world. Each law, in its own unique way, promotes love above all other impulses. Sacred Activism is about finding gratitude, forgiveness, and compassion; it is about opening yourself up to the kindness within you, letting go of pain, and making a conscious choice to help heal the world.

Andrew Harvey is an internationally acclaimed poet, novelist, translator, mystical scholar, and spiritual teacher. Harvey has published over 20 books including Heart Yoga: The Sacred Marriage of Yoga and Mysticism, Son of Man, and Teachings of Rumi. Andrew is a Fellow of All Souls College Oxford and has taught at Oxford University, Cornell University, The California Institute of Integral Studies, and the University of Creation Spirituality, as well as various spiritual centers throughout the United States. He was the subject of the 1993 BBC film documentary, The Making of a Modern Mystic.
