Haiti is the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere, with a shocking 80% of the population living below the poverty line. 50% of households live on less than $1 a day and the young children and toddlers suffer severe malnutrition. To address the critical nutrition needs of Haiti’s children, Dr. Patricia Wolff founded Meds & Food for Kids (MFK), a non-profit organization that develops, produces, and distributes highly nutritious foods, including the gold-standard Ready-To-Use Therapeutic Food (RUTF, or “Medika Mamba,” “Peanut Butter Medicine” as it is known in Haiti).
